I am Chicoya Gallman.
I am a first-generation college graduate and attorney raised by a single mother. I received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Tennessee and a Juris Doctor from Belmont University College of Law.
When applying to both UT and Belmont, I struggled with completing applications and had to fight to find helpful information about the application process. Being a first-generation college graduate, my family could not provide much assistance, nor did they have access to resources my classmates and counterparts found to be easily accessible. Many of my classmates' parents were college graduates and professionals who could review personal statements and other essay requirements, increasing the probability of their admission. I made it my mission to help students who lack resources and support so that no other student would face the disadvantages I experienced as a student applying to college and graduate school. Through The Potter’s House, I am dedicated to leveling the playing field for students and professionals who, like me, can obtain their dreams equipped with the proper tools and resources.

"Go down to the potter's house, and there I will give you my message."
Jeremiah 18:2
